Your weekly Swiftie recap
Hiiii, fellow Swifties! Welcome to Taypedia — I’m so glad you’re here 🥹
You may be asking yourself, “wtf is Taypedia?” Fair. Here’s a little bit more about me and what I hope Taypedia can contribute to the Swiftie community 🫶
My name is Krista Doyle, and I’m a longggg-time Swiftie. A “Senior Swiftie”, some might say. For 7 years, I co-hosted/co-produced a Taylor Swift podcast called Holy Swift Podcast, where we dissected Taylor’s entire discography song by song (you might remember Holy Swift as the podcast who launched the original Taylordle wordle game two years ago 👋)
I’ve always wished there was a Taylor-Swift-focused media site, so I’m building one called Taypedia 🤷🏻♀️ Here’s why:
1. A lot of stereotypical opinions about Taylor Swift and her fanbase are, well, tired and boring. I want a place to showcase all the unique POVs Swiftie (and Swift-curious) journalists have to offer, as well as highlight Swifties who are out there doing wildly interesting things.
2. Most sites write about Taylor’s romantic relationships or weird fan conspiracies, but that’s the least interesting stuff about her. Taypedia writers will explore culture, music, business, fandom, fashion, psychology — all through the lens of our favorite Blondie.
3. One of my favorite parts of co-hosting Holy Swift Podcast for 7 years was the community we cultivated with our listeners. I missed that. Community will eventually be at the heart of Taypedia, starting with this newsletter. (More to come 👀)
Thanks so much for signing up, reading, and taking a chance on Taypedia! I think we’re gonna have a lot of fun together.
In Swift we trust,
Krista

folklore turned 4 years old on July 24! Taylor remarked on the process of making the album at the date’s second Eras Tour night in Hamburg, Germany, and celebrated with a limited rerelease of “the cardigan,” a merch item from the original release of the album and featured in the ‘cardigan’ music video. Rolling Stone also just this week named folklore as one of the 100 best album covers of all time.
This week, the Eras Tour completed performances in Hamburg, Germany. There are only 9 stops left on the Eras Tour and only 4 left in Europe this summer.
‘Anti-Hero’ surpassed 1.6 BILLION streams on Spotify this week. ‘Karma’ surpassed 800 million streams. ‘Blank Space (Taylor’s Version),' ‘Picture to Burn,’ and ‘My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys’ all surpassed 200 million streams. All of the songs from TTPD have now surpassed 100 million streams.
As of July 23, Taylor has now performed every song from evermore at the Eras Tour. She completed the repertoire with a mashup of ‘happiness’ and ‘We Were Happy’ (from Fearless TV) during the surprise songs set in Hamburg N1.
Eras Tour backup dancer Kameron Saunders celebrated his birthday on July 23. Taylor celebrated Kam with a “Happy birthday, Kam!” shoutout after Kam’s solo during ‘Bejeweled.’ Eras Tour backup dancer Tori Evans also celebrated her birthday on July 25.
Anne Hathaway attended Gelsenkirchen N3 of the Eras Tour. She was seen vibing in the VIP area and posted on her Instagram Stories that the show was the “best picture-wrap celebration EVER.”
Surprise songs this week on the Eras Tour included:
Hamburg N1 Piano: We Were Happy x happiness
Hamburg N1 Guitar: Teardrops On My Guitar x The Last Time
