What am I supposed to do?

Your weekly Swiftie recap

Hi fellow Swifties,

Our chairman’s wise words can best describe this week, “I stayed there, dust collected on my pinned-up hair.”

While we missed the Eras Tour (+ TessDear + Mastermind/Swift Alert) dearly this week, the fandom wasn’t quite so silent.

Swifties4Kamala held their first kick-off call featuring special guests Senator Elizabeth Warren and CAROLE F*&KING KING??? Carole even did her own rendition of her musical granddaughter’s (her words exactly) song ‘Shake it Off.’ Give the whole S4K team the 22 hat.

Once back in the States, Taylor held a bash at Holiday House that Rebecca Harkness herself would’ve been proud of.

And we’ve been busy getting more Taypedia content out for you all, preparing for the start of the NFL season, and listening to Swiftie universe music on repeat (Bad Chem anyone??? 🥵).

What are you doing to pass the time during the Eras Tour break? We want to know!

🫶,

Krista

Taylor Nation is having an end of summer sale for up to 35% off select official merch until September 2. The select items include some Eras Tour merch, Speak Now TV merch, and 1989 TV items.

Taylor’s family donated photos to the Stone Harbor Museum in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. The town was a vacation spot for the Swifts when they lived in Pennsylvania, with the location of their former summer home featuring a plaque engraved with “Swift Waters.” The photos will be on display until the end of September.

Selena Gomez noted in a recent press interview that she would love Taylor to guest star in an episode of Only Murders in the Building. Though Selena added, “You’re hilarious. She’s a little busy, you guys.”

Coldplay and Maggie Rogers covered ‘the 1’ in Vienna. The performance was during Colplay’s four-night run at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium on August 15 and paid tribute to the cancelled Eras Tour Vienna shows.

K-pop girl group NMIXX’s Lily covered ‘Cruel Summer’ at KBS’ The Seasons show.

Friday, August 30 is the last day for MTV’s 2024 Video Music Awards fan voting. Fans can vote up to 20 times each day for Taylor in the following categories: Artist of the Year, Best Pop Artist, Video of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Collaboration (all for Fortnight ft. Post Malone). The award ceremony is on September 11 in Elmont, New York, at the UBS Arena.
